Honeydukes in Hogsmead was one my favourite stores . It’s a candy store that is a replica of the one you see in the movie, with the marvelous selections of creative candies and sweets. I spent a lot of my money here, since it was something completely new to me, that no other theme park could provi..de, and everything was appealing and attractive. They had everything mentioned in the books, Sherbet Lemon, Chocolate Frogs, Peppermint Toads and a lot more. The prices are relatively pricey for what you get, an average of $10 per item should be expected. Nonetheless, if you’re a Harry Potter fan, I’m sure you can afford to splurge a little on these collectible and edible merchandise.
There are a huge number of restaurants ranging from fast food chains to proper restaurants. Coming to a theme park, my family and I did not see any point in going to any of the fancy ones, but instead we satisfied ourselves with the cheap and quick food. We went to the Fast Food Boulevard, which isn..’t a restaurant itself but is a collection of several restaurants, so take your pick. The fast food is pretty typical, with an emphasis on relations with the Simpsons, so Krusty Burger, Duff Beer and all that. It was all quite interesting and the food is delicious as all fast food is, although it is more expensive that the typical McDonalds that you would get elsewhere.
Within the Hogsmead section of the Universal Studio lies the Leaky Caudron. It’s a restaurant that offers a variety of English food, such as fish and chips and of course, includes the famous Butterbeer. The ones that they sell is non-alcoholic, and it’s served in a collectible mug, so you can br..ing it home! I really loved that idea. It comes both hot and cold, I ordered the cold one and I really liked it, it’s kind of like butterscotch mixed with cream soda. A very enjoyable drink on a hot day at the park.
Within the menu at Moe’s Tavern, I discovered a drink called the Flaming Moe. It’s related to the Simpson’s cartoon show, but what I found particularly interesting was that the drink looks like it’s actually on flames! Each drink comes with some kind of bubbles and mist that makes it look li..ke the drink is smoking. A very interesting drink that I’ve never seen elsewhere, so in my opinion it was worth the money.
The Wizarding World of Harry Potter is one of my favourite part of Universal Studios, a place that any Harry Potter fan would enjoy. This recreation of Hogsmead is simply fascinating and turned the fictional creations of JK Rowling into a real one. While this section of the park is full of perks and.. fascinating restaurants, shops and rides to visit, its popularity results in huge lines and crowds, so it does take quite a while before you can buy your drink or browse the stores.
The Transformers Ride is a classic ride that Universal Studios has in their different theme parks. Having been to the ones in Hollywood and Singapore, this ride is up to par with the ones in other countries, although I personally thought the one in Singapore was better. This again, is one of those 3..D rides where you sit and you’re encased through the screen going through a series of scenes and events. It’s definitely very interesting and very fast paced, but nonetheless very entrancing.
Despicable Me Minion Mayhem Ride is worth your visit. If you love the movie, you’ll love this! Although at some point a lot of the motion got me a little dizzy, as with many of the 3D rides, this was very exciting and captivating. Waiting in line wasn’t as gruesome as with other rides, as they ..had a mini show room and figures and storylines along the queue to the ride. Definitely worth a visit if you’re into very well developed 3D technology and effects.
Universal Studios, Orlando is one of my personal favourite theme parks that Universal Studio has. Its Wizarding World of Harry Potter really differentiates it from the ones in other countries. It’s a huge park, split into the Island of Adventures and Universal Studios Flordia, and although relativ..ely pricey, it does provide visitors with a very interesting and worthwhile adventure. Be prepared to bring extra money, especially if you’re planning to visit the Wizarding World of Harry Potter because the stores all have a large selection of souvenirs that you just can’t help but buy! I would recommend buying a 2 day pass because of the discounts that you get with it, but only if you’re interested in going through the whole park. The park is relatively big so 1 day is definitely not enough to visit everything you want to see or go on. I would also recommending bringing as little as you can, because carrying a bag can be a hassle with some of the rides.
“Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey” is located in the heart of Diagon Alley. It was an extremely long wait, just a little over an hour, but I thought it was definitely worth it. You sit in a cart and it brings you through the castle, so you would witness the Sorting Hat placing people in th..eir respective houses, Dumbledore’s Office, passing by the moving portraits and different classrooms. It was a breathtaking experience and is definitely worth going on even though the wait is relatively long compared to the lines in the other sections of the park.
The Amazing Adventures of Spider Man is one of the must go to rides at Universal Studios. It’s very amazing, its 3D animation makes everything very realistic and exciting for the rider. It wasn’t too scary, but its 4D effects makes everything very captivating. It's a very high tech ride that all..ows you to travel through different scenes and screens and makes it a very intriguing experience, although it could get very intense and dizzy at some parts of the ride. Overall it’s definitely worth the wait.
